What is GiveBackHack?

GiveBackHack is your launchpad for social innovation. Do you have a big idea to solve an issue in our community? Take the next step at GiveBackHack. Attend to partner with our community and discover resources to make your idea a reality.

The event will kick off Friday night when you’ll meet community members of all backgrounds who are eager to exchange ideas to make an impact. The crowd favorites will be identified and teams will form around them. Participants will then spend the week mentored by top social entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, venture capitalists, and prominent business professionals as they vet ideas and build them into real products — physical products, smartphone applications, websites and anything else that will innovate on the issues we face.

Who attends?

Engaged citizens, designers, developers, social entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, changemakers, and more.

What do I need?

A passion to make a positive impact on your community, wifi access, and time. That’s it! You don’t need an idea or a specific background in order to attend. You just need to be ready to work hard to solve problems with like-minded people. If you do have an idea — you’ll have a chance to pitch it and gain the opportunity to build a team for the weeklong event to help you identify and build a solution to be proud of.

Why should I attend? The reasons are endless, but here are just a few:

Instead of cramming a whole social enterprise launchpad experience into one weekend, for this global virtual event we’ve spread out the scheduled group sessions over the course of the week, plus added flexible mentorship hours and online content you can access at your own pace – we want to make sure as many people as possible can launch the ideas our community needs next!
